After Friday prayers hundreds of Kashmiri based Seminary Students organised a massive rally in the Iranian city of Qom to protest against the scrapping of a constitutional provision that granted special status to Indian-administered Kashmir.
Dr BR Ambedkar, the principal drafter of the Indian Constitution, had refused to draft Article 370.
BJP in its Manifesto says: We are committed to abrogation of Article 370 and annulling Article 35A of the Constitution of India as the provision is discriminatory against non-permanent residents and women of Jammu & Kashmir. 35A is obstacle in the development.
Under Article 370 Shaikh Abdullah tried to protect the “State Subject Rule 1927” in which some basic rights of the citizens of the state of Jammu Kashmir were protected including.
“I challenge BJP to repeal Article 370 as its abrogation may help us to get freedom,” Dr. Abdullah said while addressing a gathering today.
A total of seven petitioners including Rashid and Faesal have moved the apex court in challenging the removal of Section 370 of J&K and the J&K Reorganisation Act which has bifurcated the state into two Union Territories.
Both India & Pakistan are on the same page in occupation, division, subdivision of JK & looting resources. It’s clear that in JK, you have to resist against your own occupied in your private area. POK & GB peoples can’t go there to help IOK peoples in any way.
“As the center has imposed the ban on Jamaat and JKLF, we’ll try to revoke the ban if we are voted to power. It is up to the center to decide whether the ban be revoked or not, but still we demand that this ban should be revoked at an earliest,” she said.
Right-wing BJP politicised the attack and swept the election, later further leading to the removal of Article 370 on 5th August 2019.
