District Neelam has a lot to explain about its beauty. Throughout your way to the valley, you will find river Neelam going along with you. When you going to Neelam Don’t just go out there randomly without knowing your routes. You need to know the requirements of this specific district. Read the following details below.
1- Weather to visit Jagan Valley (Neelum Valley
Best Season for visiting these places start from April to November. Many of the areas are closed after November due to snowfall. Not all of the areas are closed but off course you would want to see all of the tourist spots instead of visiting one or two. So summer is the season! Snowfall lovers also visit Jagran in winters particularly in from January to March but it is a bit risky.
2- Distance of Jagran Valley (Neelum Valley) from Muzaffarabad
It is an almost 100 KM clean drive If you are going from Muzaffarabad to Jagran Valley (Called Kutton) in Neelam valley district. So the complete drive almost 4-5 hours to reach to the Jagran Hydropower project. You will find Neelam river on your Left side while driving and cascades of water falling from those melted glaciers on the other side.
3- Road condition form Muzaffarabad to Neelum Valley
The Road To Neelam Valley district from Muzaffarabad is very clear. So no need of a Jeep until you reach Sharda. After Sharda you will have to hire a jeep and hiking is required to reach many spots in Kel, Arang Kel and Taobat.
4 – Neelum Jehlum Hydro-power-project
On your way, you will also be able to see the Neelam Jhelum Hydropower Project. It would probably be a huge success and you will see some heavy construction going on.
5 – Possible risks to visit Neelum Valley
You will also find a lot of landslide which is very common and no need to worry about it because it is usually cleared up as soon as possible depending on the magnitude of the sliding. It takes hours or maybe days… You Luck in this regard!
6 – Does Gooogle Map Works in Neelum Valley (Jagran Valley)
No. The Answer is probably no. You will not have any kind of internet facility in Neelum Valley and same for Jagran Valley, (Internet in the area have been blocked recently). However, In case if you get any internet in future and using Google Maps for Kutton than it is showing you the wrong route .
7 – Other Ways to reach Neelum Valley (Jagran Valley)
You can see that the pictures show Leswa Road instead of the other road. But take the road to Teetwal area and then up ahead. This road is much better and very well constructed. Don’t trust google maps only!
8 – Road to take to reach Jagran Valley.
So instead of taking a slightly left route of Jing road and then the leswa road, just take the Neelam road. Jing route and the leswa road are probably for those who want to go to the villages nearby (like Bailey Bridge which routes to the Develian Village). This road kind smaller in width and I am not sure if it is fully constructed. But the Neelam road is very well constructed.
