It was 1945 when the Second world war finished with the causalities of around 60 million people. Many of the civilians died because of deliberate genocide, massacres, mass-bombing and starvation. At that time the United Nation Organization was formed in order to encourage resolutions for international conflicts without war and to form policies on international issues.
UN has celebrated its more than 70 anniversaries till now but still, it is unable to achieve its goals and purposes. It has been failed to solve international conflicts to maintain worldwide peace and security issues like Kashmir and Palestine, which were started soon after the foundation of the UN was led. Many parts of the world have been suffering from genocide, massacres and mass bombing like Syria, Kashmir, Palestine and Myanmar etc. However, the UN has been totally failed to provide an effective solution.
Hundreds and thousands of people have been killed by the war and massacre in the aforementioned territories. There are millions of Syrian scattered through the region, making them the world’s largest refugee population under the United Nations’ mandate. when we read the facts of Palestinian Genocide, we come to know that millions of Palestinians have been killed or became refugees since 1936 and rest of the occupied population is deprived of all the human rights listed by the universal declaration of human rights. Approximately 6 millions Palestinian have been forbidden to even live in their homeland and all these facts exist in Myanmar also.
If we see the horrible facts and figures of Kashmir, approximately 100,000 people have died since 1989. According to Kashmir Media Service 158,205 people have been arrested 107,780 children have been made orphans, 27739 people have been injured brutally since July 2016 and 10298 people have been wounded by pellets.
These figures are increasing day by day and hour by hour. No one knows while he is going out of home whether he is going to be the next victim or able to return home safely. Even the youth and the children are also in danger. Fortitude is required to see and read these bloody scenes and mourn of the families.
The blazing fire of unrest has reached far and wide. It is burning the students in the educational institutes, devastating the patients in hospitals, families in the homes, flowers in meadows, birds in woods, streams in mountains. It has ruined humanity, culture, ethics, ethos, land and civilization. This unrest has been existing for more than half-century, Isn’t there any solution to it? Couldn’t it be solved? Then what are the purposes and responsibilities of the international think tanks, UN, human rights organizations and policymakers? To whom are they serving?
We know the crisis of East Timor which had a conflict with Indonesia. In 1999 United Nation Security Council called for a multinational force to restore peace and security to East Timor, to protect and support the United Nations mission there, and to facilitate humanitarian assistance operations until that time as a United Nation peacekeeping force could be approached and deployed in the area. Just 1,400 civilians are believed to have died. Here is a question, If the crisis of East Timor could be solved within a few years, why didn’t Palestine, Kashmir and Myanmar etc? Are they not suffering from inhuman behaviour? Are there lives not precious? Do they have a different colour of blood?
Perhaps the people of East Timor have the sacred blood and lives which others don’t have. Being a student of science I have never found it in any book that blood, emotions and feelings are not the same in humans all over the world. It seems as if this war has killed millions of insects rather than millions of humans. Due to the repression and apathy, our region is surrounded by bloodshed and uncertainty.
I am unable to understand the role of the UN and the international world in this regard. When France had the casualties of 86 people the entire world was screaming and protesting on social, print and electronic media. Why do we have to face the apathetic silence and negligence?
Kashmiris have been locked up for three months and they are deprived of all basic needs, their valley has been divided into several fragments but no one bothers to raise voice and put effort for their rights. I got the answer of this racial discrimination of the world in the Holy Quran. Quran has revealed the truth about them and says.
( (5:51) Believers! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies. They are the allies of each other. And among you, he who takes them for allies shall be regarded as one of them. Allah does not guide the wrong-doers.)
