Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections

Significant Corrections
If an error affects the meaning, accuracy, fairness, or interpretation of an article, Kashmiriat will add a correction note to the article.
A correction note may include:
- What was incorrect
- What has been corrected
- The date of correction
Updates
Some articles may be updated when new information becomes available. In such cases, Kashmiriat may add an update note explaining what was added or changed.
Editor’s Notes
In cases involving serious editorial issues, disputed claims, missing context, plagiarism concerns, or ethical concerns, Kashmiriat may add an editor’s note explaining the situation.
Retractions and Removals
Kashmiriat does not remove published material simply because someone disagrees with it. However, we may remove or retract content if:
- It contains serious factual errors
- It creates unnecessary risk to vulnerable individuals
- It contains plagiarism
- It violates our editorial policy
- It contains defamatory, hateful, or fabricated material
- It was published without proper verification
- It compromises source safety or privacy
If a story is retracted, Kashmiriat may publish a retraction note explaining the reason.

When Kashmiriat receives a correction request, the editorial team will review the claim, check available evidence, and decide whether a correction, update, editor’s note, clarification, or no change is appropriate.

Right to Respond
If a person, organization, or institution believes they have been misrepresented in a Kashmiriat article, they may contact us with a response. Kashmiriat will review the response and may update the article, add a clarification, or publish a reply where appropriate.
