Sharda Peeth will be opened for pilgrimage

About 5,000 years old Sharada Peeth temple is a highly respectful place of worship for Hindus around the world.

The Sharada Peeth Temple, a 5,000-year-old revered Hindu worship site, is poised for significant developments, as confirmed by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. An announcement regarding the Peeth Corridor is anticipated shortly.

The Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (SSCK), representing Kashmiri Pandits, praised the Pakistani government’s decision to reopen the pilgrimage route to Sharada Peeth. Ravinder Pandita, the head of SSCK, expressed his joy to Kashmiriat, stating, “The approval to reopen Sharada Peeth in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir marks a revival of a historic seat of learning once frequented by Adi Shankaracharya and the Kashmiri saint Swami Nand Lal Ji. The pilgrimage halted for 70 years, is set to resume, calling for an update in the LoC permit to encompass heritage and religious tourism across the border. As the leader of the SSCK, I extend my gratitude to both nations for this momentous step towards peace and reconciliation in Kashmir through the revival of Sharada Peeth.”

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a prominent Hurriyat leader, also welcomed the development via Twitter, noting the positive momentum between India and Pakistan regarding the Sharada Peeth Temple reopening. This move, he suggested, could foster further goodwill and understanding between the two countries.
